Update
I wish I could update my blog more often but life has been in the way so much lately.Upper respiratory infections(the kid),a shoulder injury(me),visits to the doctor and the pharmacy, dealing with pain and misery. But now, thank God, everything is back to normal. We are in good health and go on with our lives. We are capable to enjoy the fun part of it.Basketball games and sleepovers(the kid),hanging on the computer, reading my favourite blogs and taking pictures with my new camera(me).I loooove my new camera!!!!So,there are three random pictures from December, last year.1.A sunset shot through the car window.2.A dream came true:somebody got her ears pierced.3.My cutie pie, Precious.

Illustration Friday:Myth
When we talk about mythology the character who is closest to my heart is Orpheus. He was the greatest of all the musicians of his time. His songs could charm not only the people but also the rocks and rivers and could make the birds stop singing in order to hear his songs. He was believed to be born in the Rhodope Mountains where I was born too and I grew up with his images in books,on buildings and monuments.

From my sketchbook
I started thinking about participating in Illustration Friday challenges.I need something to motivate me to do more of the things I love to do.Do not have time?Do small things! That is the answer. When my daughter was a small baby I did not have much time but I started an art journal in which I drew, sketched and wrote on a small scale.I experimented with different materials and technicks and tried new ideas. It kept me motivated ,inspired and going and most of all happy! These three sketches are from the last summer.Ink ans watercolor pencils.

A day later!
These are the pictures I wanted to post yesterday but couldn't. Figured it out.I managed to upload them with the new Google Chrome browser.I am so behind with this Internet stuff. You have to have all the time in the world to figure it out.Things change so fast nowadays!!!Otherwise I wanted to share these pictures I have taken with my old veteran ,my point and shoot Kodak camera which is going to retire soon. And the reason for this you can see in the last picture. This is what Santa Clause brought me for Christmas. And I am loving it!!!I bet if you stop by often you already have noticed the difference between the images in this post and the previous two. So,that is my new toy and my new joy.I haven't taken it out yet if we do not count taking pictures out of the car window.I can't wait to take beautiful winter pictures because it is not a secret that I love winter. So,does my kid!

Sweet Christmas time
Oh,sweet Christmas time.I loved it so much this year. There was time for everything. For cooking delicious meals and making cookies and cup cakes, for celebrating with family and opening presents, for stressing out and relaxing, for playing with our pets and with the new presents and all kinds of Christmas joys.
This little fluff ball under the Christmas tree visited us for Christmas. She is still a baby,so cute and playful and so hard to take picture of.

Grieving
Brokenhearted, swallowing tears after the tragedy in Newtown we are trying to lead a normal life.Just because of her.She needs that feeling of security and love. She needs to know that it won't happen in her school. We cried together,we talked about the innocent kids who lost their lives. We were truthful and reassuring. We want her to trust her teachers. We want her to believe that everything will be OK.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the children and the teachers who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy.

December
It does not feel like winter yet.It is getting colder but we don't have snow,so far.My kid can't wait for the snow to come hoping for white Christmas.
Although it was gloomy last weekend it was pretty mild and good enough for a walk and a bike ride.It is amazing how we can still ride our bikes in December!I took her and a couple of her friends to the park on Sunday. On Saturday she had a couple of other friends on a sleepover at our house and they baked Christmas cookies. They also had a lot of fun playing with her Guinea pigs,

Relax!
Time to take a deep breath and relax.Sometimes it takes everything out of you to meet the other people's needs. With this kind of job and a family to take care of.At the end of the week you do not have anything left.So the main goal for this gloomy weekend is to relax and find some inner peace.
This doodle/drawing was completed last summer just for fun while watching my favourite talk shows.

Giving thanks
I enjoy my little Thanksgiving vacation very much. How about you?For me it is time to slow dawn and spend precious time with my family.I think it is a special Holiday because it makes us think about the most important things in our lives. What am I grateful for in my life?I am grateful for the health and well being of my family and my own,as well;for their love and happiness; for the sunshine and the extraordinary warm fall this year, for my friends;for the farm folks who work hard in the fields so we can put food on our Thanksgiving table;for the people who helped us to stand on our feet after the flood 5 years ago,for our pets who bring so much joy in our lives...I can go on with the list but let me stop here and say: God bless all the good people/and animals/that bring so much light in our lives!
1.The thanksgiving table at Grandma and Grandpa's house2.At Grandma's house3.A Thanksgiving plate 4.Precious likes to be up to date at what is going on in the house5.Ashley likes to take naps by me when I do crafts.6.We are so happy that Hurby and our new baby boy,Scruffy get along so very well.It is fun to watch them play and popcorn from joy during their free range time.

4.Listed a new pair of fingerless gloves in my Etsy shop.
5.Played with Scruffy, our new Guinea pig.He is soooo cute and amusing.
6.Visited the pet store again and took numerous pictures of the rats. They are so very cute and entertaining. If I could only get over their bare bony tails I would positively have a couple of them.
