Illustration Friday:Hidden

My submission for this week's topic Hidden .He was hidden in the woods ,evil, hungry and lonely. His life completely changed since the moment he  met that strong little girl in the red hood. Now he is happy, fed and friendly and he follows her everywhere. But it is a different story.

Illustration Friday: Power

This is my submission for this week's topic Power. It illustrates the powerful bond between a person and her dog. The love between a person and a pet can be so strong that in moments of danger they can risk their lives to save each other. This one is an old doodle that I did back in June but I like how it turned out and would like to share it with you. The girl in it also reminds me about my step daughter Alana who loves animals so much ,especially the dogs, so she goes to school to become a vet technician.

Puppy

The last tree or four weeks the topics at the Illustration Friday did not inspire me very much and I did not participate.Anyway I did  some drawings inspired from different ideas. This puppy though is an old one, done in June. It was completed in watercolor straight with the brush. For a reference a used a photo from Country Living magazine , the British edition.

Illustration Friday:Children

This is my second submission for this week's topic: Children. The topic is one of my favorite ones. I bet I have hundreds of drawings of children in my sketchbooks but I appreciate Illustration Friday for the motivation and the inspiration it gives me to draw more. Most of my submissions are new ones and this one too.

Illustration Friday:Liquid

I did this illustration long ago in January. I was going to post it for the topic Ocean but something happened and I was late. So here it is with this week's topic Liquid. I can interpret this illustration  like ; we should try to see the big picture of our life and not exaggerate the little hardships in it. If we are patient future always brings us something better.

From my sketchbook

I started thinking about participating in Illustration Friday challenges.I need something to motivate me to do more of the things I love to do.Do not have time?Do small things! That is the answer. When my daughter was a small baby I did not have much time but I started an art journal in which I drew, sketched and wrote on a small scale.I experimented with different materials and technicks and tried new ideas. It kept me motivated ,inspired and going and most of all happy! These three sketches are from the last summer.Ink ans watercolor pencils.

Relax!

Time to take a deep breath and relax.Sometimes it takes everything out of you to meet the other people's needs. With this kind of job and a family to take care of.At the end of the week you do not have anything left.So the main goal for this gloomy weekend is to relax and find some inner peace.
This doodle/drawing was completed last summer just for fun while watching my favourite talk shows.

A quiet weekend at home. When it gets cold it is time to slow down. And it feels good.Just making home made pizza for my daughter's sleepover, watching the guinea pigs play, watching TV and reading blogs. And dreaming about a new camera!I hope soon! This illustration of mine was completed in the summer.Ink pen and watercolor pencils.

Some more illustrations from last year

Can't believe it is almost the middle of September and this is my first post for this month.Life tries really hard to get in the way of my blogging!Too many things to do and no enough time.
Well, today the things are going really good so far.Almost all the chores were done in time,my kid was  at school and the computer was waiting patiently for me.So I embraced this opportunity and here I am,at the computer.Sometimes I wonder why I do that. The blogging ,I mean.To brag about myself and the things I do and make?I don't know.I think I do it more as therapy; to distract myself from the hardships of life,to try to look at my life from a different perspective and ,I hope, to inspire somebody the way I get inspired by the other people's blogs.
These three illustrations were inspired by Christmas and the flying away year of the rabbit, 2011.
