Quick Sketch With Watercolors

This is a quick sketch with watercolors I did in May last year.I did it from life,I picked the flowers from my husbands gerden. As I did not know how much time I had available, you never know when you have a small child,I decided to sketch it right away with the brush. It has been painted on Sthratmore watercolor paper with I don't remember what brand of watercolors.

The Town Of Triavna

This drawing took me quite a while to finish.I did it in three or four sittings ,two-three hours each within a couple of years. It has been drawn with ink,Millenium pens, on Strathmore drawing paper. It depicts an old town in Bulgaria called Triavna, famous for its old architecture which is typical for Bulgaria and the south-east parts of Europe as well.
I have been in this town many times and I liked the people , the atmosphere of peacefulness and the presence of history all over the place.

Baby Sonya

This is a drawing of my daughter Sonya from the time she was about a year old.I used a reference photo because as you know it is too hard to make a child stand still for a long time.I drew her with charcoal pencils on regular drawing paper which I am afraid is not acid free.
The picture I used for reference had been taken by her grandma when giving her a bath in the bathtub. Her grandma used a laundry basket in the tub to keep her safe.

My new Art Journal

I decided to start a new blog where I can post my sketches and drawings. It is going to be my on -line art journal where I can share my observations on the world around through my art images. It is also going to be like an art lab where I can show the results of my experiments with different media. As I have a lot of sketchbooks I will start posting here with one of my old drawings. I painted that last December trying a new box of watercolor paints, Reeves, pans.I'm not very happy with the quality, not enough pigment. Good for sketches but not for a real watercolor painting. The paper is Sthratmore.
