Keeping myself going-pencil drawings

Sometimes one feels like doing something creative but does not have any ideas or does not want to start too big of a project so she looks around and sees her daughter's math textbook with wonderful bright pictures. The faces of the little kids are so cute and expressive.Yea,why not?She grabs the regular #2 pencil and draws them in her sketchbook. So simple and a lot of fun.
That's what happened to me last week. The textbook is Math for second grade,Harcourt publisher.

Art in the park

These pictures are from the last Sunday.A local Art in the Park festival.A lot of local artists-jewelers,potters,wood and metal artists ,fine artists and mixed media and fabric artists. There was live music, dancers, petting zoo for the kids and a lot of good food.My family and I enjoyed every minute of it and I even bought a small painting /ACEO/from a local artist.
I will post about it next time.

Our fun Saturday

There is no need to say that we had a lot of fun.It was my daughter first time on the Ferris wheel and on the bumpers cars and my first time on those cars too.I wanted to ride on the marry-go -around but it turned out that adults were not allowed to climb the horses. Now that was disappointing. And I could not help myself to take a picture of this cute little puppy.

Faces from the local newspaper

These are the two sketches I did on Monday and could not post because of the lousy weather and lack of good light.Today it is warm and sunny and the pictures turned out good.I don't say perfect because they could be better but you can get the idea.

:)Rainy Monday

Sometimes my dining room table looks like this. Actually most of the time.We are a creative family. At least some of us.
It has been raining the whole day today and my kid and I were stuck at home.Of course she drew pictures, wrote in her journal, watched TV and played on the computer and I drew a little bit.Too bad the light was no good and I could not take pictures.
I had to make a hard decision today, too and when I finally made up my mind I felt a huge relief.
And also talked on Skype to a friend I had not seen or talked for about twenty years. We were very good friends but life scattered us in different parts of the world and we lost touch with each other.
She had always broth me a good luck in the past so I hope our reunion in this hard moment of my life is a good sign.

Some sketches from the ball game

I am not that much of a sport lover.I love to watch winter sports and gymnastics but not too much ball games.
But anyway I like to sketch people who play sports.
I guess the movements of the human body fascinates me.

I did these sketches on a warm spring day ,I think in April. My daughter wanted to go to the Creek Side Park.We rode our bikes there and while she was having fun on the swing sets and climbing bars I was having fun sketching the kids playing base ball in the nearby play field.
