Happy month of March everybody!It is nice to think that spring will be here pretty soon.This winter was very nice to us in this part of the world but I miss the flowers and the birds,the sunshine and the bike rides.
Today I had a quiet day off work in the company of our pets.It was not a very productive day,just a relaxing one.Actually while watching my favourite talk shows I made two Martenitsas.It is a Bulgarian tradition when people give each other little creations made out of red and white yarn in the beginning of March.The red color is a symbol of health,the white of prosperity.It is like you wish your loved ones have all the health and prosperity in their lives.You can see my Martenitsas in the first picture.

Happy Valentine's Day

Some arts and crafts inspired by St.Valentine's Day.The cards are handmade with store bought stamps,hand made stamps, watercolor and red ballpoint pen.I have made the window decoration from the wire of an old notebook and remnants of yarn and fabric.The picture with Dove chocolate is from last year but I never got to post it ,so... now is the moment.Did I mention that Dove is my favorite chocolate?And the picture of our kitty,because her nose is in the shape of a tiny pink heart.Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Time

Time is the best treasure in life after health.I think.It is so important to have some time for ourselves. To do the things we love.To think.To cleanse our brains.To organize our thoughts.Or just to be.To feel the moment of life.I have time now.I am rich.At the moment.I have eight days off work.I savor every moment,when I do what I love to do:read,sketch,look at the other people's blogs on my tablet,knit,take pictures and so on or even when I do nothing.The pictures above are like illustrations of my life during the last three-four snowy winter days.The spread from my sketchbook is from a year ago.I have some new sketches but I have to take pictures and upload them in the computer.I even tried to bake a bunt cake yesterday and it turned out pretty delicious!

Random pictures from my life. I 've been too busy recently.Too much work and no play.No time even to think let along dream or do art.The closest thing to something  creative was to take pictures during those two or three weeks.As you can see in the pictures I still try to keep up with my New Year's resolution and drink a lot of herb tea.This one is mint and the ginger bread cookies...well,I had to make them even after Christmas,They are so delicious!!!One of the reason to be busy after work were my daughter's basketball games.It is so much fun to watch her and her team play.They are not the strongest team  in the area but they grew up a lot and it is so entertaining to watch them play.I look forward to watching every single game.At some point during those endless work weeks I started feeling the cabin fever really bad .I had to go out for a walk in the snow.I had to...Down the bridge,down the bike trail I went in wind and cold....But I felt really,really good after that walk.
And yesterday we went to eat out at Texas Road House.It is a little bit spendy for us but we had a good reason.My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and it was a special treat for all tree of us.The secret is:we looooove their BBQ ribs.
The last drawing  of a random cat was inspired by the Internet.I hope I haven't posted it before,It's an old one and I do not want to bore you with the same images over and over again.She reminds me of our new cat Maya.I am under the influence of her overload of cuteness and at the same time she can be a naughty little thing.But I can never be mad at her.

Random post

Random post with random pictures from my fall. Snippets from my life.The ground is covered with snow but astronomically it is still fall.A fall that was warm and sunny not long ago and now it is freezing cold and snowy.My life is busy and exhausting at the moment and it was kind of surprise to myself to find time to blog.I am usually so tired that I prefer to do something more passive like reading a book or going on my tablet.I am so glad that I am back to reading Surprisingly I sometimes menage to do some sketching but forget to take pictures of my sketches.This is why my sketch is back from August.

Maya

We added a new member to our family.She is about one year old,adopted from the animal shelter.They found her wandering downtown Rochester.Apparently she belonged to somebody who hadn't been able to take care of her anymore.Why do I think so?Because nobody claimed her from the shelter.We named her Maya.We thought about different names like Nelly,Autumn and even Olga,my daughter's idea but it seems that Maya fits her the best.We are in love with her!She is the sweetest,cuddly little kitty!The picture  would be perfect if our other kitty ,Precious,was not going through a very jealous stage.At first she was very interested in her and looked like they would get along but now she is trying to put up a fight almost every day.We usually interfere when the things start to get ugly and hope that the time will help them learn how to live together.

Sketchbook-2014

Sketchbook is such a delicious, inspiring word. Every time I hear or read it my imagination starts simmering with hundreds of new ideas.They usually come though, when I do not have time to try them.When I have a lot of time they somehow disappear and I have hard time coming up with something to draw or paint.And.... this is how I feel at the moment.....Posting pages of my new/and not so new anymore /sketchbook I am trying to find some inspiration for the weekend.
This sketchbook was an unexpected present to myself for Christmas.I was rushing through Barnes and Nobel looking for a last moment present for my husband.It was so crowded and hard to navigate through the isles. Accidentally I knocked something over with my shoulder and that was It.Nice,simple with beautiful off white paper.
I thought to myself: "Oh,you are so beautiful and so delicious with  all your blank pages!!!You are coming home with me!"

 This week's topic at Illustration Friday is TAIL. It was not hard to decide what to draw. As we are a cat family I have my long tailed models available whenever I feel like sketching.
