The most wonderful time of the year!!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year as they say in the song.I enjoy every minute of it whenever I can.Especially this weekend.I am almost recovered from the nasty flu I got at the beginning of the week.It was not fun I am telling you.My whole family was sick with the cough, fiver, chills, body aches-the works! But we survived and everything is back to normal now, thank god. These pictures are snippets of  my day today.Very rarely I will be able to post pictures on the day I take them but today is one of these days.I got a lot of rest and drank a lot of herb tea with chocolate cakes, did some chores and took a lot of pictures, cooked delicious creamy potato soup and went to the Christmas parade with my girl and her friends. It is one of those days that create memories.

Snapshots from the end of November

It was a wonderful three-day weekend spent in the slow lane. There was a lot of  resting, cooking, decorating for Christmas, knitting, reading books, coffee drinking and shopping.
Down went the Fall decorations and up went the Christmas tree.We can't have a real one because my husband is allergic to pine trees. And this year we also have to skip on all the breakable decorations because our Maya is quite a trouble maker. We are afraid that one day when coming after work we will find the whole Christmas tree down on the floor.Let's hope she won't go that far though.
The cute deer in the first picture is a thrift store find.I love treasure hunting in the thrift stores.
I've been in a knitting mood recently making hat after hat and scarf after scarf. When I am stressed out I reach for the knitting needles.Knitting has such a therapeutic effect on me.The idea for the hat with the little owls is from Pintrest.I saw the picture and thought to myself "Oh,I can make that!"And I did it.My daughter liked it too ,so I made one for her as well.I am sorry I don't have a picture of hers to show you.
The pencil sketch in the last picture is from 12 days ago.I did it when I started reading The Fault Of Our Stars by John Green.I finished the book yesterday and I loved it.I haven't see the movie yet.I did not want to see it before I read the book.My daughter has seen it already and she said she cried a lot.

Random post

Random post with random pictures from my fall. Snippets from my life. The ground is covered with snow but astronomically it is still fall.A fall that was warm and sunny not long ago and now it is freezing cold and snowy. My life is busy and exhausting at the moment and it was kind of surprise to myself to find time to blog.I am usually so tired that I prefer to do something more passive like reading a book or going on my tablet.I am so glad that I am back to reading Surprisingly I sometimes menage to do some sketching but forget to take pictures of my sketches. This is why my sketch is back from August.

We added a new member to our family. She is about one year old, adopted from the animal shelter. They found her wandering downtown Rochester.Apparently she belonged to somebody who hadn't been able to take care of her anymore. Why do I think so?Because nobody claimed her from the shelter. We named her Maya.We thought about different names like Nelly,Autumn and even Olga,my daughter's idea but it seems that Maya fits her the best.We are in love with her!She is the sweetest, cuddly little kitty! The picture  would be perfect if our other kitty ,Precious, was not going through a very jealous stage. At first she was very interested in her and looked like they would get along but now she is trying to put up a fight almost every day.We usually interfere when the things start to get ugly and hope that the time will help them learn how to live together.

The trick-or-treating bunch ready for action.
Some goofy photo shoots

At the end it is all about candy.

Postcards from a weekend trip

It is grey and cloudy outside. It's been like this for the last two days.A sad reminder that the cold is coming with dull and dark days.I love snowy wintry days but when they a bathed in a lot of sunshine. The lack of light makes me depressed.
The pictures I am posting are from about two weeks ago.The fall Saturday was gorgeous like it was supposed to be.Warm and sunny with abundance of all the colors the fall can bring. My family and I went on a short trip antiquing around in the nearest little towns. We stopped to take pictures every time we saw a beautiful view.Nowadays even my husband is contaminated with the photo bug.He got himself his own camera and competes with me who is going to take a better picture.Sometimes he takes a really good ones!

The most beautiful autumn

This is the most beautiful autumn I have ever experienced.I can't have enough of it.Wonderful mild weather with a lot of sunshine  perfect for walks with a camera in hand. The colors are unbelievable this fall;from warm green and light yellow to deep orange and flaming red.I took multiple walks in the woods and around town to enjoy the pretty scenery. As being a little bit stressed out at work at the moment, who doesn't,this beauty feels like a balm for my soul.I hope the good weather stays longer to keep the leaves on the trees. The yard decorations in the fourth picture are not mine.I took this picture when I went leaf watching around town last week. And the river in the fifth picture is the Mississippi River.Just the picture turned out good and I would like to share it with you.
