Thank God it is weekend again

A lazy weekend in front of us. I need to slow down a little bit. To take a deep breath. To relax.To listen to the bird songs and enjoy the sunshine. These are pictures from another weekend. Rainy and slow. Thank god the weather cast is good for this weekend. Warm and sunny!!!

This is my submission for this week's topic Future. This is a quick doodle I did last night expressing the ever lasting hope that the future would be better than our present life.

Snow in May !

It is funny to post pictures with snow in May but this was the reality.The snow fell on May 2 and yesterday it went snowing in and out mixed with rain.This is the strangest spring ever.Two or three days before the snow we had 83 degrees F.It felt almost like summer.We had fun outdoors,I took pictures of the first flowers in our garden,we visited Grandma and Grandpa and the beautiful Sophie,a sweet rescue dog they were babysitting for a week.

Spring...finally!

The lost spring finally found us.It was so warm and spring like yesterday.The day was full of outdoor fun and a lot of first time things happened.For the first time we went on a long bike ride,eight miles.It was Hurby's first time outdoors for this year and Scruffy's first time out in his entire life.He was a little bit scared at the beginning but then he loved it and was hopping around the pen from joy.Yesterday I spotted the first miniature irises in our garden.Pretty!

My submission for this week's topic Wild is a simple study of a fox.I am not very good at drawing wild animals so this was one good opportunity to improve.I used a regular #2 pencil and watercolor pencils.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland in April???Yea , on April 12!I think the spring got lost in Antarctica.I am tired waiting for it,this year.The warm weather comes to tease us for a couple days and then the polar bears come down from Canada again bringing snow and ice.Well,what can we do?The last four pictures are from a week ago.My kid and I took a nice walk enjoying the warm weather taking tons of pictures and having lots of fun.The puddle is heart shaped!Can you see that?And the purple crocuses bloom in our garden.Their color is sooo beautiful!Can you spot the little birdie  in the first picture?

This week's topic is URBAN.I managed to draw two illustrations again.For the first one I used as a reference one of my own pictures that I took in Bulgaria about five years ago.The little girl was my daughter and the other people were just strangers.For the second one I used a picture a friend of mine has taken on a trip to Paris.In both drawings I used ink pen and watercolor pencils.

I almost missed to post an illustration for this week's topic.I was too busy but anyway yesterday I managed to do the drawing and today /after work/ I am posting it.I am so glad that I decided to participate in Illustration Friday.It keeps me so motivated and actually I do draw!!!Every Friday I can't  wait to find out what the next topic is going to be.

I spy with my little eye...

My little eye spied a lot of sights that warmed my heart this morning.Sights of SPRING !!!The reflection of the sun in the puddles of melting snow,the stray cat sunbathing on the roof of our old garage,the first robin,the friendly cow looking at us with curiosity and the bright red cardinal singing loudly his spring songs.My daughter was again the lucky duck who first spotted a robin this spring.
I am glad that the spring is finally coming.With this long and cold winter I started getting depressed.

This week's topic is SWIM.As I had the weekend off and my kid had sleepovers two days in a row I got carried away and came up with four illustrations.But isn't this the whole idea of participating in such kind of challenges?!More inspiration and more drawings!These two were inspired by the web.Don't you love the Internet?One can find all kinds of reference photos,there.So I used an ink pen Pilot because I like its bleeding effects and a wash of watercolor pencils.

Illustation Friday:Eye Glasses

This week's topic is Eye Glasses.There is no much room for imagination there.Everybody who already submitted their illustrations drew or painted people or animals with glasses.Oh,well, I should always remind myself that the most important thing is to create instead of complaining.It took me awhile to decide what to draw.I closed my eyes and the first idea came to me was a lady from the 50-ties.The big and fancy eye glasses with weird shapes were very fashionable at that time.So I looked up for an image on Google to use as a reference picture.I used ink and watercolor pencils.The paper was not very ink pen friendly and that's why my drawing is kind of rough at the edges.

Today

I am usually very slow uploading my pictures in the computer and it is very rare to blog about them on the same day the pictures are taken.So today is one of these exceptional days.I posted the pictures in the order they were taken today.I little glimpse of my day at home.I wish the spring comes here soon...
