A Little Decoration For Grandma

Although only six- years-old my daughter loves to paint and do crafts.Recently she has started showing interest in sewing.I showed her some basic things and helped her to make this heart for her grandma -"baba "in Bulgaria. We made another one to decorate our Christmas tree a couple of months ago.I am so glad that she loves to do arts and crafts because creative people are never bored.

A Different Creation

Sometimes my creativity takes a different turn. This is what I made a couple of weeks ago. I knitted this hat for myself as I had hard time finding a warm hat to suit me.All of the hats in the store were stocking type, more like for teenagers than for women my age.So I bought this beautiful yarn from Hobby Lobby and knitted it with five needles.
Actually back then when I lived in Bulgaria I liked to knit a lot. Here I lost my motivation spending more time doing my hobby #1 painting.

A Game Of Love

I am having a wonderful time at home.I took a week of vacation and I am enjoying every minute of it.In the morning I will take my daughter to school and then will go on line checking the art websites. After that I will go to my studio to paint or draw.
Today I worked on my Tour de France oil painting. It is a present for my husband who is an avid biker. I also did some pencil drawings from a movie. When I was in Bulgaria last summer I bought a bunch of old Bulgarian movies which I grew up with.Today I watched a movie called A Game Of Love or A Play of Love, you can translate it as you like it.It was made in 1979 and I remember when I watched it for the first time I was really excited. It is a wonderful story told by talented actors.
So,here are two of my drawings, completed with pencil in my Canson sketch book.

Altered Book-Journal2

Here you have two more pages of my journal #2.I did not mention in my previous entry that my intentions were to make it a travel journal for my first visit back home in 2005.I got the book ready, which means I glued bunch of pages together, cut some pages so it did not get too fat and painted some of the pages with acrylic paint. When I got ready I realised that I misplaced the memorabilia and the notes from my trip. Then the flood happened and although it was salvaged I almost threw it away because I had a lot in my plate already. So,recently when I've started thinking about a new art journal i remembered about this baby and decided to re purpose it.In the first layout I was just trying different techniques and the second one is my 2008 list of exciting things or first-time-things that happened to me during the year.I saw it in some body's blog in a different way and changed it to suit me.In the other blog it was a list of 100 hundred things and you had to highlight the things that happened to you.
It is a pretty cold sunny day, today. The temperature is 3deg.F/-15C/.It would be nice if there was not that nasty wind that make it feel colder.

My New Art Journal

I knew I wouldn't be able to go for too long without a journal so at the end of the old year I started my new art journal. It is in the technique of the altered books or in two sentences you take one old book, paint and decorate it and it turns into an altered book.If you want you can incorporate text or you can just use the language of the images. As I am more traditional person I like to write long entries for the events of my personal life and share my thoughts.
This is one of the pages in my journal.I coll aged one of my drawings onto the page which was gessoed and painted with acrylic pains beforehand.I wrote the entry with a golden color gel pen which supposed to be acid free. The drawing was completed with ink pen and watercolor pencils.
