New pets in the house

My husband had four aquariums that got destroyed by the flood  in 2007,That was his #2 hobby after gardening.He had all kinds of pretty fish that was such fun to watch.Finally we could afford to recover this loss.We got three fish tanks for free from a relative and we,mostly him ,started browsing pet stores for fish.His favourite kind are the cichlids.The Gold fish are my daughter's.Of course she had to have her own tank too!Everybody should be happy at home now,even the cats.Now our cat Precious spends hours by the fish tanks watching the fish  and wondering why she cannot get them.Aren't they so pretty these little fishes?Fascinating!

Goodbye summer!

Can't believe it is almost the middle of September and this is my first post for this month.Life tries really hard to get in the way of my blogging!Too many things to do and no enough time.
Well,today the things are going really good so far.Almost all the chores were done in time,my kid was  at school and the computer was waiting patiently for me.So I embraced this opportunity and here I am,at the computer.Sometimes I wonder why I do that.The blogging ,I mean.To brag about myself and the things I do and make?I don't know.I think I do it more as therapy; to distract myself from the hardships of life,to try to look at my life from a different perspective and ,I hope, to inspire somebody the way I get inspired by the other people's blogs.
These three illustrations were inspired by Christmas and the flying away year of the rabbit, 2011.

The trip to the Twin Cities

At the beginning of August we had to go to the Twin Cities again.After we had the important part of the trip done we decided to have some fun going to that pretty little town of Afton again.They have such a beautiful garden place there with the most beautiful garden ever.Here I want to share some pictures of the trip:

Summer treats

Strawberry smoothy.Actually you can make it all year round but it is so refreshing in the summer and can be a light snack for the kids.All you need is some plain yogurt,sugar,hand mixer and of course strawberries.I am not the queen of measurements so I eyeball everything  and adjust it by taste.

Fun Monday

Can it get any better?Summer,sunshine,endless fun with friends in the cool water of the creek.Played with a friendly dog named Elvis,had a snack at the tiny beach and sent a message in a bottle.Will anybody find this bottle and read the message?They were wondering about that when tossing the bottle in the water.We also saw some crayfish.It is amazing how they look like miniature lobsters.Actually they are miniature lobsters.The kid had a lot of fun that day.And her mama did too.Taking pictures, sketching and cooling off in the creek.That was our last Monday.I wish we had more Mondays like that.
