*****
Random pictures from June. Unpredictable weather, rain and sunshine, rain and sunshine, then rain again. The level of the rivers are high giving reasons for worries. We are in and out, in and out, trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. A regular work week with no much time and energy for creativity. Substituting drawing with photography. Finding the beauty in the everyday life. Tending to a sick Guinea pig. He got his last dose of antibiotic yesterday and he is feeling much better.

Our Father's Day
It turned into a family tradition to celebrate Father's Day at the art show Art in the Park in Lanesboro, MN. The weather was wonderful on Sunday: warm and sunny, a real day from the summer. The park was full with people: arts and crafts vendors, food vendors , visitors and lots of pets. We like the atmosphere of the art show. We like to look at the different booths and buy some beautiful things. My daughter was interested in the jewelry and the delicious food of course, my husband and my mother-in-low were interested in the pottery and I bought myself this wooden trey you can see in the last picture. I also love these kind of events because they give you perfect opportunities for people watching and picture taking. The other thing I love about our Father's Day at Art in the Park is that we get to spend time with grandma and grandpa because they like to come with us on this day. It makes my daughter even double happier.

It feels like summer
It feels like summer finally! I started to believe that eventually it will come. On Thursday we had the nicest day for this spring. All sunshine and summer warmth. Oh god, how we need that! Yesterday was not bad too. There were clouds once in a while but as a whole nice. We took a good advantage of the warm weather and went on a bike ride to Peterson.10-11 miles total. My girl was even more motivated than usual because I promised a lunch at Burdey's Café. She loves this place. The food is so delicious there and the prices are very nice. She doesn't care about the last one but I just want to mention it as a "bill payer". On our way back we took pictures of wild flowers and the beautiful scenery. Back at home we decided that it would be fair for the Guinea pigs to enjoy the beautiful weather so we took them out to their play pen. Yes, it was a wonderful day spent with my daughter. And not only this day, the whole week was so sweet because I had it off. Too bad it is coming to its end. It is always so precious to spend time with the people you love and to do things you love to do. I enjoyed every single minute of my little vacation.

Illustration Friday:Children
This is my second submission for this week's topic: Children. The topic is one of my favorite ones. I bet I have hundreds of drawings of children in my sketchbooks but I appreciate Illustration Friday for the motivation and the inspiration it gives me to draw more. Most of my submissions are new ones and this one too.

Friday night
Last night after supper my daughter and I took the Guinea pigs outside to their play pan. They love to be outside to run and graze fresh grass. The weather was wonderful despite the predictions for thunderstorms. It was warm and sunny with a pleasant light breeze. It was so nice to relax after the hard day and just soak in the moment , watching the world around and listening to my kid's never ending stories.. The sunset was gorgeous and my first reaction was to run in the house for my camera. Enjoying the beautiful evening we were amazed to see how busy and ever changing the world around us was. The skies and the clouds changed their colors several times till the sun sat down. A baby robin fell out of its nest and landed on our old garage roof. I hope it will survive the hardships of its little life. A flock of Canada geese flew by honking loudly over our heads. A bunch of martins were upset by our presence in the garden and were flying nervously back and forth screaming loudly. Only Mama Cardinal was laying still in her nest by the garage because she had a very important job to do-to hatch her little eggs. I could sit out there for hours and just be. It is amazing how the littlest things could give us so much pleasure.
The last two pictures show my daughter's project for her Science Fair at school. She did a great job doing it all by herself. That was the last big event before the summer vacation which by the way has officially started. Yey ,Summer!!!
Some of the pictures in this post were taken by me ,some by my daughter.
