The end of August

Took this picture exactly two years ago.A bright sunny day at the end of the summer and a child with a kite.This year the last two days of August were kind of cold and gloomy .The fall started showing its signs for sure.The sun showed up at the end of the afternoon and warmed the air.It was the Open house at school,today.The school year starts next week.She can't wait.I hope we'll have a good one.

Pizza,cake and a lot of fun

She got the present she wanted the most,i-pod shuffle and some i-tune cards to buy her favourite music.We baked her favourite Papa Murphy's pizza.And she surprised me mixing her birthday cake almost all by herself.She just followed the directions on the box.The girl is growing up for sure.

Happy Birthday to my little girl!

This little girl is going to be 9 pretty soon.We are going to have a family celebration with pizza and cake.

Sick at home again,waiting for better days.She got cold with the works,sore throat,fever,cough and so on.Had to stay home and take care of her.Thank god, she started feeling better.
This picture is from a fun bike ride and picnic we had with her and her little friend A.about a week ago.Will post some more pictires in the next posts.

jeans when she decided that that was the
best place to sit and relax.It looked so funny
so I could not help it and took a picture of her to share with you.

Two more of my drawings,part of the challenge.A quiet day without my kid around.She is still at her grandma's.My plans for the day?To do some paper work and to make chicken-pasta salad for my DH.I am not much of a pasta person but don't we do everything possible to make our loved ones happy?

Pictures from a beautiful summer week-2

Today we spent the day cleaning the house.She organised her room,a surprising urge to beautify her environment.She got really tired/I am so tired I can feel the blood in my tongue!/but went on because her cousin was coming to visit today.And grandma and grandpa as well.I encourage and support eagerly this kind of strange behavior.It turned out pretty good.She even made her bed!!!
Yesterday we did not do anything.She was sick with a stomach bug and I had to stay home with her.It was not fun but thank god it is over.She is OK today and very excited to have a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house with her cousin.
These pictures are from the last week, too.We went on a bike ride and my girl and her little friend A. explored the nature with the great curiosity of the little kids.The funny thing is that I dropped my camera in the creek that day and I was so stressed out that I lost my little friend,because she is like a friend to me.She,Camera, had hard time recovering for a couple days and guess what?Now she works as good as she did before the fall!!!It is true she got a lazy eye,my dear friend.The shutter would not shut up entirely but who cares if she still works.

Two more of my sketches-doodles.My enthusiasm about "one a day challenge" is fading away.I am not sure I am going to finish it.Life gets in the way of it and it gets harder and harder to stay on track.And I also enjoy doing other things like spending time with my kid,biking,crafts,reading books and blogs,watching TV and so on.


Yesterday for example we had a wonderful mother-daughter day.After a short visit at the dentist's we spent the day in Winona going for a walk by the lake,feeding the ducks and the Canada geese,visiting my work place and meeting my coworkers,visiting the nursing home.We ate breakfast at the hospital cafeteria and lunch at AW.At the end of the day we went shopping for school supplies,a new backpack and some cute outfits.It was so amazing to watch her being so excited and happy,enjoying every minute of the day.I wish we ,adults,could live in the moment the way the little kids can.
