This pencil drawing of a girl with a bird was inspired by a movie made sometime in the 1980- ies.It was a production of USA and USSR and its name was The Blue Bird as I could remember.I saw the picture of the girl in a magazine and I just had to draw her.

Christmas decorations

The time before Christmas is the time of making,the time of never ending inspiration.Ideas from magazines,ideas from the web,stores and craft shows.I can't tell who inspired me for those handmade decorations but whoever it was I say

"Thank you".So,I used leftover yarn and beads from my daughter's collection.At the moment they are outside decorating a bare bush in our yard.It is actually very cute .If I don't forget I will take a picture and post it later.

I love to turn the light off and turn all my Christmas lights on.It looks so magic.

Crafts Basket

This project had been nesting in my mind for quite a long time.Finally during my two-week- stay home I found the courage to start it and guess what?I finished it!!!It took me three or four days but don't take me wrong. It was not a constant, overwhelming labor.Every time I felt like watching TV I would take the craft in my hands.It took 8 T-shirts to make it,two adults and six children's size.The crocheting itself is fast.It is the cutting the T-shirts in strips that takes so long.But at the end the result is fabulous.I am so proud of my new crafts basket and it makes me feel good about recycling eight T-shirts that were cluttering my closets.

Quiet winter day

Buried under the snow,too cold to enjoy the outdoors.I am snuggled at home sipping hot herb tea and crafting with two little helpers.

Christmas cards

I am working on my Christmas cards.The people I am going to send them to don't read my blog so the surprise is not going to be spoiled.

Besides the stamp with the sign Merry Christmas all the stamps have been handmade by me.

Alana's clay creations

I had to post about that.May be it would have been a nice post suitable for Halloween but anyway I would like to share my step daughter's whimsical creations.
Don't you love these little clay heads ?There is so much humor and creativity in them.
I love them.They bring smile on my face every time I look at them.
Alana made them during her pottery classes at her school.

My last project

Inspired by so many beautiful handmade 2011 calendars on line I decided to try to make one myself.And with some help from my daughter the project was finished this morning.
I was afraid it would be a lot of work and I will get bored but no.It was real fun and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I am going to hang it in my kitchen.
Now my daughter and I are planning to make another one for my parents as a present for Christmas.

It is already December.Can you believe that?I started to get ready for Christmas but don't have pictures yet.That's why I am posting a picture of my little girl's special collection.All these animals were bought at garage sales, thrift stores and gift shops.
