This week's topic at Illustration Friday is TAIL. It was not hard to decide what to draw. As we are a cat family I have my long tailed models available whenever I feel like sketching. And here I come with an overload of cat illustrations and sketches in different media and styles. I hope you enjoy them.

From my sketchbook
I started thinking about participating in Illustration Friday challenges.I need something to motivate me to do more of the things I love to do.Do not have time?Do small things! That is the answer. When my daughter was a small baby I did not have much time but I started an art journal in which I drew, sketched and wrote on a small scale.I experimented with different materials and technicks and tried new ideas. It kept me motivated ,inspired and going and most of all happy! These three sketches are from the last summer.Ink ans watercolor pencils.

The last two drawings
The last two drawings from my last year challenge.Mixed media, experiments with drawing ,collage and water color on pages of old books. The first one was inspired by my childhood memories and the second one is just a ballerina girl.I have always loved to draw dancers.

#30,31 and 32
#30 was completed with watercolor crayons
.I used a local newspaper as a reference for it.#31 was completed with ink and watercolors ,the reference was from an old foreign newspaper.#32 was inspired by magazine J-14 again, ink and watercolors.
So,with these three sketches I finished the ones for the month of January and started February.I am proud of myself for not giving up in the first month.I've read somewhere that people give up on their New Years resolutions by the end of January.
