The trip to the Twin Cities

At the beginning of August we had to go to the Twin Cities again.After we had the important part of the trip done we decided to have some fun going to that pretty little town of Afton again.They have such a beautiful garden place there with the most beautiful garden ever.Here I want to share some pictures of the trip:

Random Sunday pictures

Random pictures of things that make me happy.My sweet girl,the sudden downpour bathed in sunshine today,the clouds and the trees,my black cutie pie Precious,homemade pizza with lots of onions and fresh tomatoes.

Three more from the challenge.Completed,again,during my morning break at work.Quick drawings,illustrations,doodles.Cute animals inspired by children's books.Sorry for the blurred image in the second picture.At the moment I can only dream about a new camera, a Canon or something like that.

Summer treats

Strawberry smoothy.Actually you can make it all year round but it is so refreshing in the summer and can be a light snack for the kids.All you need is some plain yogurt,sugar,hand mixer and of course strawberries.I am not the queen of measurements so I eyeball everything  and adjust it by taste.

Fun Monday

Can it get any better?Summer,sunshine,endless fun with friends in the cool water of the creek.Played with a friendly dog named Elvis,had a snack at the tiny beach and sent a message in a bottle.Will anybody find this bottle and read the message?They were wondering about that when tossing the bottle in the water.We also saw some crayfish.It is amazing how they look like miniature lobsters.Actually they are miniature lobsters.The kid had a lot of fun that day.And her mama did too.Taking pictures, sketching and cooling off in the creek.That was our last Monday.I wish we had more Mondays like that.

Sketches and doodles #152,153 and 154

Three more doodles and sketches from my last year not very successful challenge.All of them were done during my morning break at work.The first one is pure imagination,the second one was inspired by the girl cleaning around the cafeteria during my break and the third one is obvious-a small bag of M&Ms.

Scooter

Yesterday we went to the pet store to buy my girl's early birthday present.We bought another Guinea pig, a friend for Hurby.He is still a baby and is very,very cute.She named him Scooter and she already loves him as much as she loves Hurby.We introduced them to each other on the floor and it went pretty good but the cage bonding was not very successful.They had to sleep in different cages.
I hope they will get used to each other and become friends.The first three pictures are of Hurby and Scooter.The last three are of some happy rats goofing around and this very active parrot who would not stand still even for a minute.That's why the only good picture of him I could take  was upside down.

Post cards from July

It is almost over, this beautiful,hot and exciting month of July.But we will remember it with all the fun and joy we had and the important things that happened to us,especially to me.A trip to the Cities bringing an important change in my life,bike rides down the bike trail,going to the movies with my girl and her friend,movie theater popcorn and candy,a stroll along the Mississippi River in the highest of the heat,ice cream at a cafe,going to the swimming pool,arts and crafts market.There is a lot of things to remember about this sweet month of July.But let's not close the last page of it because there are six more days left.Who knows what they are going to bring?

The Thursday Market

The Thursday Market on 1st street,downtown Rochester ,MN.Local artisans showing their crafts and arts,street sales from the stores  on 1st,live music,outdoor cafes and food vendors.It is a fun event, we will come again.

Self portrait

It's too quiet in the house.She's on a sleepover with her cousin at Grandma's house.I already miss her.

This is her first attempt for a realistic self portrait.She looked in the mirror and this is how she saw herself.I wish she used better paper instead of a page from her notebook.Because I love it!!!She is getting so good!
