Snow in May !

It is funny to post pictures with snow in May but this was the reality. The snow fell on May 2 and yesterday it went snowing in and out mixed with rain. This is the strangest spring ever. Two or three days before the snow we had 83 degrees F.It felt almost like summer. We had fun outdoors,I took pictures of the first flowers in our garden,we visited Grandma and Grandpa and the beautiful Sophie,a sweet rescue dog they were babysitting for a week.

Fun Monday

Can it get any better?Summer, sunshine, endless fun with friends in the cool water of the creek.Played with a friendly dog named Elvis, had a snack at the tiny beach and sent a message in a bottle. Will anybody find this bottle and read the message? They were wondering about that when tossing the bottle in the water. We also saw some crayfish. It is amazing how they look like miniature lobsters.Actually they are miniature lobsters. The kid had a lot of fun that day.And her mama did too.Taking pictures, sketching and cooling off in the creek. That was our last Monday.I wish we had more Mondays like that.

***

She likes to paint on the computer.Puppies, cats, guinea pigs, girls, flowers, sunshine, clouds.I wish it was that easy for me too.To decide what to paint and not to be mad when it does not turn out good.
But isn't this puppy adorable? She is very good at painting dogs. And cats, and girls, and flowers,trees,clouds...
Today is a gloomy and cold day,a good day to stay inside and read a book, drink tea, talk to a friend and listen to my girl's stories about school.

#66,67 and 68

#66 and 68 have been done in a hurry at work during my morning break. With ballpoint pen.I don't know what to call them -sketches or...doodles.They are rough and awkward but anyway it is a good way to practice observation and drawing. I think a part of this challenge is to teach me how to let myself to be imperfect and go on with my life instead of being paralyzed by any unsuccessful line or painting. Just put it aside and try again, dear! Or try something new!

Random sketches

I've been sketching recently random things with watercolors straight with the brush.Everything that attracts my attention or inspires me with something. It could be from life or from a magazine. These two sketches have been inspired from Country living magazine the US edition.

Three new sketches

For the first two ones I used a couple of pictures from the British edition of Country Living magazine as reference photos. For the cow I used my own reference photo.
In the first two I used watercolor crayons and ink in the third one watercolor pencils and ink.The size is about 6x9.
