Bye,bye,August! Hello,September!
It seems to me August passed by so fast. It was a busy one for us or it seemed to me like a busy one. It was full of celebrations and things that had to be taken care of. A late graduation party for my step son, an early birthday celebration for my daughter, school supplies shopping, school clothes shopping ,long awaited going to the movies to see the One Direction movie/Yes, she is a fan!/,sleepovers, taking care of my little veggie patch, harvesting the produce , cleaning after the Guinea pigs and playing with them, bike rides and reading aloud The Little House On The Prairie and so many other activities that come with the sweet summer time and the school vacation.
But this time is over now and she is /almost/ready for school. But I am not ready for the fall yet. This year the summer was kind of short and I would not mind some more warm and sunny days.

*****
Random pictures from June. Unpredictable weather, rain and sunshine, rain and sunshine, then rain again. The level of the rivers are high giving reasons for worries. We are in and out, in and out, trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. A regular work week with no much time and energy for creativity. Substituting drawing with photography. Finding the beauty in the everyday life. Tending to a sick Guinea pig. He got his last dose of antibiotic yesterday and he is feeling much better.

Giving thanks
I enjoy my little Thanksgiving vacation very much. How about you?For me it is time to slow dawn and spend precious time with my family.I think it is a special Holiday because it makes us think about the most important things in our lives. What am I grateful for in my life?I am grateful for the health and well being of my family and my own,as well;for their love and happiness; for the sunshine and the extraordinary warm fall this year, for my friends;for the farm folks who work hard in the fields so we can put food on our Thanksgiving table;for the people who helped us to stand on our feet after the flood 5 years ago,for our pets who bring so much joy in our lives...I can go on with the list but let me stop here and say: God bless all the good people/and animals/that bring so much light in our lives!

RIP
Our little baby boy Guinea pig Scooter suddenly passed away on Wednesday ,October 24.He was so active and happy the night before playing with his brother Hurby and enjoying his favorite treats of lettuce and carrots. In the morning I noticed he could not keep his balance falling over on his sides and one hour later he passed away peacefully in his cage.We are still in shock trying to figure out why it happened to him.My little girl is brokenhearted grieving for her little baby boy in her own way, writing him letters and taking some treats to his little grave. We loved him so much and we will miss him a lot.His cute face, his vibrant and happy personality, the light and laughter he brought to our lives.Rest in peace little Scooter.

The joys of summer
A cool and fresh morning bathed in sunshine, light pleasant breeze along the bike trail down the river, clouds of butterflies above my head, pink white and purple flowers spreading their sweet aroma in the air.I did my bike ride early this morning because today the temperature was expected to reach 100F.I was done with my chores outside by 11:30 in the morning.I plan to stay inside till the evening. There is a lot of things to be done inside.Stay cool everybody.
P.S.This little guy/in the last picture/ helped me to put this post together.
